Easter Basket Free Pattern
This Easter basket has not handle, so it can be mailed to friends and relatives!
You need: 190 yards worsted weight wool (we used Lamb’s Pride worsted)
US size 10 ½, 16 inch circular needle
Cast on 14 stitches.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: k2, m1, k10, m1, k2
Rows 3 + 4: knit
Row 5: k2, m1, k12, m1, k2
Rows 6 + 7: knit
Row 8: k2, m1, k14, m1, k2
Rows 9 + 10: knit
Row 11: k2, m1, k16, m1, k2
Rows 12 -14: knit
Row 15: k2, m1, k18, m1, k2
Rows 16 – 18: knit
Row 19: k2, m1, k20, m1, k2
Rows 20 – 22: knit
Row 23: k2, m1, k22, m1, k2
Rows 24 – 34: knit
Row 35: k2, ssk, k20, k2tog, k2
Rows 36 – 38: knit
Row 39: k2, ssk, k18, k2tog, k2
Rows 40-42: knit
Row 43: k2, ssk, k16, k2tog, k2
Rows 44 – 46: knit
Row 47: k2, ssk, k14, k2tog, k2
Rows 48 + 49: knit
Row 50: k2, ssk, k12, k2tog, k2
Rows 51 + 52: knit
Row 53: k2, ssk, k10, k2tog, k2
Rows 54 + 55: knit
Row 56: k2, ssk, k8, k2tog, k2
Row 57: knit
Now pick up and knit 46 + 14 + 46 stitches around and knit in the round for 32 rounds.
Bind off with a 3 stitch i-cord bind off as follows:
knit cast on two stiches, *k2, ssk, move 3 sts back to left needle, repeat from star until
there are only 3 stitches left, cut yarn pull through last 3 sts and weave in closing the gap.
Wash on hot with little detergent and no spin for about 45 min. Check frequently.
Let air dry and fill with easter goodies!
